November 26, 1883 - Sojourner Truth Dies

Isabella Van Wagener died on November 26, 1883, in Battle Creek, Michigan.. Known more famously as Sojourner Truth, she was renowned for her evangelism and women’s rights efforts. She had a quick tongue and once told a man arguing that women had no role in the church, “And how came Jesus into the world?  Through God who created Him and the woman who bore him.  Man, where was your part?”
