January 6, 1850 - Charles Spurgeon Becomes a Believer

Charles Haddon Spurgeon accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior on January 6, 1850. He was one of the most prolific writers and pastors of the 19th century, and his 38-year guidance of the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London (pictured) was immensely impactful. On the night of his salvation, Spurgeon heard the message of God’s love in Jesus Christ and later said, “I can never tell you how it was, but I no sooner saw whom I was to believe than I also understood what it was to believe and I did believe in one moment.”
