November 12, 1035 - Danish King Canute Dies

Early Danish King Canute built churches and monasteries to support the spread of Christianity throughout Denmark, but he faced many challenges as he did so. Among these was his strife with the pagan Vikings. They often ransacked his monasteries and churches (and continued to do so for nearly two hundred years). King Canute died on November 12, 1035.
