August 27, 1910 - Mother Teresa Born

Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu, more commonly known by the name Mother Teresa, was born on August 27, 1910, in Yugoslavia. At a young age, she joined an Irish convent and took the name Teresa. She would go on to spend most of her life serving the poor in India by establishing numerous homes for the sick, dying, and orphaned, as well as hospices for those with terminal illnesses.
