April 3, 1826 - Reginald Heber's "Holy, Holy, Holy" is Published
Prior to his death at age 42, Reginald Heber spent a considerable time traveling in Scandinavia and Russia before he settled in India as an Anglican missionary. Eventually, he was named bishop of Calcutta. One of his passions was poetry, and this stemmed from his time of study at Oxford University. Many of his poems were him, and his most famous, “Holy, Holy, Holy,” was published posthumously on April 3, 1826.
