January 20, 1569 - Myles Coverdale, Printer of First English Bible, Dies

CHT

Building off the translation work of John Wycliffe in 1382 and the martyred William Tyndale in 1536, Myles Coverdale was responsible for the first complete printing of the first English translation of the Bible. Though he survived Queen Bloody Mary’s continual murder of Protestants by escaping to Denmark, he ultimately died on January 20, 1569.
