September 26, 1626 - Lancelot Andrewes Dies

Lancelot Andrewes’s resume was unrivaled during the reigns of Queen Elizabeth I and King James I of England. He authored Private Prayers, a devotional that has been in print for centuries. His greatest contribution was his role as director of the Hampton Court Conference that developed the King Jame Version of the Bible. He died on September 26, 1626.
