December 6, 1829 - William Carey Translates Law to Save Lives
William Carey dedicated his life to preaching the Gospel in India. During his time there, he came across a village with the practice of burning widows alive when their husbands died. Fortunately, Carey learned that the practice had been outlawed, and on Sunday December 6, 1829, he decided not to preach a sermon but instead translated the new law into Bengali so the people could hear the law and stop the practice.
