October 28, 312 - Constantine Converts to Christianity

The conversion of Roman Emperor Constantine to Christianity was a major milestone in Christian history. While historians still argue if Constantine's conversion was legitimate, his acceptance of Christ is traditionally believed to have taken place when he fought a battle against his pagan co-emperor Maxentius at the Milvian Bridge just outside Rome on October 28, 312. Constantine claimed to have seen a sign of Jesus Christ in the sky, which he credited for his victory that day.
