October 23, 1930 - Chiang-Kai-Shek Converts to Catholicism

Chiang-Kai-Shek, the leader of the Republic of China (also known as Taiwan), converted to Catholicism under the influence of his mother on October 23, 1930. He was the primary opponent of the Chinese Communists and their leader Mao Tse-Tung. Allegedly, he later became a Methodist.
