November 17, 1961 - Charles H. Mason Dies
The Azusa Street Revival was a religious movement that began in Los Angeles in 1906 that gave rise to Pentecostalism in America. The movement produced several denominations, and the first was the Church of God in Christ. The “mother church” for this denomination began in Lexington, Mississippi. The founder of the Church of God in Christ was Charles H. Mason, and he died on November 17, 1961.
