July 10, 1509 - John Calvin Born

CHT

John Calvin may very well be one of the single most influential Protestant theologians. Born on July 10, 1509, in Noyon, France (birthplace pictured), he became a minister at the age of 27 and would preach until he died. His book The Institutes of the Christian Religion is still regarded as one of the most influential works of theology, though many contest the validity of Calvinism, the doctrine of predestination named after him.
