July 23, 1945 - Youth for Christ International Formed

On July 23, 1945, in Winona Lake, Indiana, forty-two delegates voted to officially form the Youth for Christ International organization, which is still active today. These delegates elected Torrey Johnson as president, and he recruited a full-time evangelist: the famed Billy Graham.
