July 24, 1874 - Oswald Chambers Born

CHT

Oswald Chambers was a prominent missionary born on July 24, 1874, in Aberdeen, Scotland. He struggled for three decades to discern God’s calling for him until, at the age of 29, he was commissioned as a chaplain through the YMCA to Egypt during World War I. Though he made a great impact there, he ultimately died in Egypt of complications from an emergency appendectomy. His devotional book My Utmost for His Highest lives on as a reminder of the work he did for Christ while on earth.
