One of the most famous hymns of all time is “How Great Thou Art.” This powerful anthem was written by a British missionary to Russia, Stuart K. Hine. Hine was born on July 25, 1899. He took the lyrics from a Swedish poem that had been translated to Russian and then translated that to English to compose the hymn. Hine was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Hame in 1994.
