July 3, 1843 - Justus and Calista Vinton Journey to Burma

CHT

On July 3, 1843, newlyweds Justus and Calista Vinton set sail on a life-altering 160 day oversea journey from Boston to Burma (modern-day Myanmar). They believed that God had called them to mission work amongst the unreached Burmese people. They spent most of their married life apart, believing that by leading two different teams, they could encounter twice as many people for the sake of the Gospel. Both knew the native language (pictured), and found many Burmese people to be receptive to hearing the Gospel. Both would pass in Burma at different times.
